Saturday Morning Training

Don't miss it, it's fun

7.30am Saturday

T2 worked hard on Saturday morning in his plastic multisport but he failed to get over the line before John Breed in his Kevlar Excalibur. T2, 3 seconds behind did managed to beat Alan Moreby by 5 seconds who was in his Excalibur.

Sharon who loves her new GT Aero is getting more competitive every time she goes out. Sharon has now started to give Jan a run for her money. It’s all good fun and good fitness training.

Dave Boldy tried the new PRS ski. He found it to be very fast so he bought one straight away. Apparently he holds some of the long plastic records and last week he lost one of them when Kevin won the Island to Island Race in a PRS and broke the record by several minutes. He now hopes to change that. He will be racing on Sunday after a weeks rest in Sydney.

The winner of this weeks Saturday morning $50.00 gift voucher draw is Martyn Theobold.

SAD NEWS
Surf Ski Champ's Disappearance (Victoria)

Mr Scheen's competition surf ski was found on Monday smashed against the base of cliffs in an inlet only metres from where he launched.

A life vest was found nearby. The following day his hat was found 150 metres out to sea and his mobile phone washed up on the beach.

Tourists reported seeing him being buffeted by waves as he made his way out past the headland at Murnanes Bay about 12.30pm Monday, intending to paddle the 20 kilometres to Peterborough.

New Ski Paddlers - Be Careful

We are selling a lot more skis to people wanting to take part in the adventure races. Although most paddlers can paddle them in the river when they hit the rough stuff they struggle and often capsize. Before taking part in these ocean races ensure that you have the skills to do so.

Remember: Always wear a PFD. - To get used to rough conditions train in some rough water in the river where you won’t get swept out to sea. - Remember if you fall off your ski and it is windy it can easily blow away from you, leaving you stranded. - If the ski is unstable and you fall off you can quickly tire and not have the energy to get back on.

It is important to have a good support stroke so if you haven’t got one start practicing or enroll in one of our individual lessons.

Also Guy runs courses for adventure racing so if you want to build on your skills, give us a call.

Just be careful out there.....

Epic Skis are one of the best racing skis for ocean racing. Give us a call.
